Have used this pack on numerous week-long backpacking trips, sometimes carrying other people's gear.I've had this thing weigh in at over 55 lbs at the start of a trip. I'm tall and thin, suffer from minor to major joint (back, shoulders, knees, etc) pain when I'm active.
Simply put, I'm not very sturdy.But guess what? 4 days into a trip with 50+lbs and 10 miles per day and NO neck, shoulder, back, or hip pain.Impossible!
Pack can adjust to fit very long (or short) torsos.I think this could probably fit up to someone 6'4". I've also managed to fit this thing so that almost all of it's weight squarely on my hips.
Bottom line:Even if money weren't an issue, I would take this pack over 300 and 400 dollar packs with no regrets.Having your back and shoulders feel fresh after a long heavy hike is priceless.
