(More customer reviews)We've got three of these air mattresses for our kids (my wife and I have a queen size for us) when we're car camping and also to make the mattresses in our RV more comfortable.

They're not heavy, they inflate quickly and easily (I recommend the 4D inflator) and deflate and store away just as easily. I leave them a little bit "mushy" so that the kids don't feel like they're sleeping on a board. They're far and away more comfortable than the thin little sleeping pads (even the self-inflators) that we use for canoe camping and backpacking.

I did puncture one on the sharp corner of our RV door, but that's the only problem I've ever had with them.

I was initially using a 12v inflator to pump them up, but learned quickly that the smaller 4D inflator is far superior and more convenient.

For the price and the comfort they give you for that price, I recommend them to anyone. You can get better, but it will certainly cost you.

(More customer reviews)I think for many people this bed would be great, but it didn't quite work for me. The pump works great, but is very loud both filling and emptying. It gets the mattress very firm. Though the mattress was firm enough, the whole structure bowed down in the center under the weight of two people. It was enough that neither of us were comfortable by morning.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this for my grandmother who suffers constant pain with regular beds. She nows has great nights of sleep. I was concerned that her weight which is over 200 lbs would be a problem. Man this bed performs. I have never written one of these reviews and to be honest I hesistated after reading negative reviews. What realize now is that disatisfied people are much more likely to write something and the many more satisfied customers have moved on to enjoy their purchase. This bed is worth every penny and performs exactly as described.

(More customer reviews)I've only used the bed once so far but it was quite comfortable. I was able to sleep on my side, back or tummy, just like my regular bed and the mattressstayed firm. I used my vacuum cleaner to quickly blow it up at home when I was testing it out. To use a vacuum as a pump, just take off the hose and put it on the opposite end. For camping with out an air pump, you can use your portable vacuum cleaner with an attachment for your cigarette lighter. So, for me, a comfortable bed for 20 dollars is a very good value.

Update, we used it for ten days straight, no problems. Never lost air, two of us slept well, we didn't roll or anything, perfect!

(More customer reviews)After researching many of the other more expensive, self-inflating air beds, I decided to purchase the Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed for overnight guests. It's less than half the price of an average twin size Aero Bed and much more versatile as it can be configured as two twins, one king, or one double-height twin. You do need to buy a separate pump, but the Coleman pump is inexpensive and can be used for other inflating/deflating purposes (e.g., pool toys, vaccuum storage bags, etc.). Each mattress inflates and deflates in just a couple minutes, and it's quite easy to roll it up for storage. It's comfortable both as a single matress or double height. I ended up buying a second 4-in-1 Quickbed, so now I can accommodate up to 4 overnight guests for less than $100. I can't vouch for how long it will last, but even if it sprung a leak after a couple years of periodic use, it would still be worth it at this low price.

(More customer reviews)I bought a pair of these mattresses at the last minute on price alone because we needed a pair of twins in a hurry.They held their air through four full days/nights of camping by two teenage boys.They boys like to flop down and bounce around - goofing off as kids do.
We used standard twin sheets which stayed tucked in.The mattresses did not get cold in the night (the flocking helps) and never lost a bit of air. They were very quick to inflate, quick to deflate, and easy to roll up to pack for the next trip.Winners... who knew?Now YOU do.

Update.The review above was written during the summer.The mattresses were since stored in a covered tub in our hot Florida attic for many months until being pulled out for a Thanksgiving camping trip.Once again these mattresses held up to the teenager test.They were just as supple and fresh as the first day out of the box.I'm really happy with these and plan to use them again in another few months.

(More customer reviews)If you are looking for a bed you can take with you camping in the summer and to relatives homes any time of the year, this bed works fairly well for short term use and is a quick and cheap solution. I find the Coleman beds last quite a long time, even though you will eventually find yourself on the floor due to the many problems that can occur with placing an airbed on the floor. For one, sharp objects will easily puncture the bed and this includes playful cats tossing about toys near the bed or like my cat loves to do, pushing a cat toy under the bed and retrieving it again.

I've lost two beds this way, but this can be solved by placing a thick mattress cover over the bed. Sharp objects under the carpet may also puncture the bed although this bed has an exclusive PVC and the airtight system is guaranteed not to leak. I find that we deflate this bed in the morning and inflate it again at night, so this isn't really a problem, although after two days, you may notice air has leaked out a little bit more than you expect.

The comfortsmart coil system helps the bed to conform to your body for better support, which means you might like this bed better than a regular mattress. In my short lifetime I've purchased quite a few of these beds and more expensive doesn't mean more comfortable. To be honest, this is more comfortable than the Aero beds with the pillow top.

If the bed looses air, you might want to take a look at the inflation instructions where it shows the internal seal and the internal yellow post and how you can completely seal the valve in a two-step process.

"Air temperature and weather do affect the air pressure in inflatable products. In cold weather your airbed will lose some pressure due to the fact that the air will contract."

So, to avoid this happening, we use a heating blanket on the bed.

One thing I will say about Coleman, they stand by
their warranty. With Aero, I found it difficult
to even return a bed or to find a return address
at their site.
