Ground Hog Stake Single by MSR Review

(More customer reviews)We are not serious campers - car camp in a State Park 1 or 2 weekends a year. Recently purchased these stakes and a tent from Amazon. The first time we used these, the park required us to pitch our tents on tent 'pads' - essentially hard packed gravel that is used for either parking your vehicle or pitching your tent. These stakes went into the hard packed ground like a hot knife through butter. Four other families in our party had either standard issue plastic stakes or the typical coat hangar thin steel stakes. They worked up a sweat trying to get their stakes to make any headway through the hardpack. A couple of them ended up bending and/or breaking stakes and ultimately left a couple corners unsecured. I was VERY happy with my small investment in these sweet stakes. If you are a serious camper and could be out in all kinds of ground terrain and high winds - I gotta believe you are going to want these. If you are a car camper and would rather get your tent set up and have a cold one while your buddies are cussing out their cheap stakes - you wanna have these too!

Kelty Adjustable Tarp Pole Review

(More customer reviews)Before this pole I had tried a cheaper one that I got at Wal-Mart for only seven dollars. It worked, but not particularly well, nor was I very convinced in its sturdiness or longevity. The Kelty pole on the other hand is very nicely made of heavy duty aluminum, it actually looks like it might be anodized. The three sections are connected with a bungee to keep them together when folded and for ease of assembly, much like tent poles. I use two of these poles when camping with my truck - one end of my tarp attaches to the topper over the bed of the truck, the other end is held up with the two poles and then staked. Works great, and they've held up in heavy rain and very strong winds.

Nite Ize Figure 9 Tent Line Kit One Color, One Size Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these because I wanted the reflective line and the Figure 9's looked cool and I thought it would be easy to adjust tent lines. You can adjust tent lines very easily with Figure 9. However the product's strength is also it's weakness. The Figure 9 also grabs on to everything else as well. Fold up your tent after use and you will find that the next time you use it you can count on 4 or 5 minutes of detangling the 9's. Put up your tent near shrubs and you will find the 9's catching on the leaves, stems, pine needles, anything else that happens to get in the way.

Great product except it really hasn't made putting up my tent any easier or faster. The reflective lines are great but only reflect if you are wearing a headlamp. In that case they reflect like neon signs. However the angle of reflection is so small that when I wore the headlamp and my girlfriend did not, she could not see the lines even though she was standing next to me.

(More customer reviews)You have to figure out how to use this productyourself.There are no instructions and the photo is misleading.The photo is what it would look like from the inside of the tent.And, there is no loop as the picture shows.There are two pieces: a)a ring andb) a base for the ring that has a strap attached for the rope guides. Here's how to put them on your tent:

1) Place the ring piece inside the tent at the spot you want it.

2) place the oval-with-strap piece on the OUTSIDE of the tent and push the oval piece through the tent fabric into ring piece on the inside.The ring piece locks it in place.

It's hard to understand with words, you just have to fiddle with it until you get it.It is very clever.Enjoy.

(More customer reviews)Nothing is worse than tripping over a tent stake or guy line in the night when stumbling out of camp for storm prep or just to relieve one's self.Using cordage like this helps to greatly reduce the incidence of such accidents.It can also help n finding the camp again in the dark and rain, as I have found out by personal experience!Reflective cordage is now a staple of my kit.Also make a good lanyard.Lost a knife in the dark?Shine a light around a bit and follow the reflection!Great stuff!
