(More customer reviews)When I first used this cot it seemed excellent. The frame is very sturdy and the cot was comfortable. If I had written a review at that point I would have given it 5 stars. But the second trip I took the cover burst like a balloon. Really, I could feel it give a little, and by the time I could get off it there was a 4 foot long rip. It was then I started looking closely at the material of the cover - it is some rubberized material with a few threads in it - not a real canvas. And it has zero rip-stop capability. I tried to sew it but it was like trying to sew a balloon - it just doesn't work. The Slumberjack people say they will give me a new cover, but they never seem to have one in stock to send (for 4 months?). Only get this cot if you plan on using it once! My previous cot lasted 8 years.

Update Oct. 2009: The Slumberjack folks were bought out by another company which may explain the difficulty getting a new cover during the crossover. With the new owners I was sent the promised cover [actually, they sent me 2 covers.] Used it one month long trip with no problem yet. We will see how it lasts next year.

(More customer reviews)The Slumberjack arrived on my door tonight and I tried to set it up in my tiny living room and ended up having to move furniture!The size is fantastic, it has plenty of room to sleep and flop around without rolling over the support bars.When laying on it the size feels more like a twin bed than a camp cot.

Pay attention to the fact that it is TALL. The description clearly states the height, but at 5'5" my feet don't touch the ground when sitting on the cot so getting out of it will be a comical event.If you are tall this shouldn't be a problem, but if you're in the Hobbit height category (like me) take heed.

The cot is heavy and while it comes with a sturdy case with shoulder strap it isn't the option for long treks into the woods.It also requires some muscle to get the cot set up.The concept is simple, unfold it and feed the two end bars through the top and bottom of the cot, but actually attaching the end bars is hard.I also think the plastic hooks will not last years as long as the rest of the cot.Once the cot is put together it is sturdy and will provide an excellent sleeping experience, but it isn't designed to be set up and taken down night after night.

The quality of the cot is good and the built-in shelf under the cot will be handy for keeping things dry, tucking a book in, or (for me) keeping a ladder close.

(More customer reviews)The cot was a little tight when I first assembled it, so I left it assembled for a couple weeks and slept on it on the back porch a few times.Now that it is broken in, it is easy to set up.The 500 pound capacity is probably right, because I am light and tend to bounce of easily,it seems hard compared to the cots I have worn out in the past.The really nice thing is the size 6' 11" long by 32 1/2" wide. The only problem was the buckle for the storage strap which was made of plastic and broke when I cinched it up.

(More customer reviews)I picked up four of these for regular use by visitors to my apartment (gotta love couchsurfing.com). The units have kept well under regular use, but be careful when folding them back up.. there is a chance the material of the cot will get caught on the bars when closing, and that both stretches the material and can even tear it. This just means you have to be diligent when closing the units to keep it good and extend their life. [...] these are a really good value. I recommend them.

(More customer reviews)I live in a dorm and bought this product for when my friends end up staying the night.I bought the Kingsize because I have several tall friends that stay over sometimes.This cot is a well made prduct and I would recomment it to anyone looking to buy a cot that folds like this.It isn't something i would bring on a camping trip or anything like this since it only folds in 1/2 (does not collapse to a compact size).It fits nicely between the head of my bed and the wall when folded.Also I don't know how well it would hold up on uneven ground.The frame is thin walled tubing like you would find on a beach chair.
In terms of size limits.It is long enough to sleep my freind who is 6'5".(i don't know if he hangs over the edge or not.My 6'2" friend sleeps comfortably on it.The weight limit says 220lbs, however i tip the scales at 245 and have slept on it several times with no ill effects.When looking to purchase it I was a little worried about the width (only 2 feet) but now that i have slept on it i have no complaints about the width.
