(More customer reviews)We bought this to take with us to the beach to shade our 8 month old baby. I also wanted a discrete place to nurse her as well.
I set it up at home first to see how difficult it would be - it was really easy - just three poles used and its up! It was very roomy.
Definately a bit more difficult at the beach to do it, but that's factoring the wind and sand. Still quite easy though.
It was very cool inside, however, not when the front is zipped up (which I tried when I needed to feed the baby) --- it got very hot with the front closed up. But it still offered alot of privacy, even with the front part opened up.

It folds up smaller than one of those packageable lounge chairs, very light, and I know its going to be something we use for many years.

(More customer reviews)I originally purchased the Coleman Road Trip to take on vacation to Hawaii and didn't realize how big it was until it got here.It is a great tent/shelter if you're looking for something fairly big but it was not what I was looking for. So I returned it and saw this and ordered it.I thought it would probably only last one or two uses and then I'd leave it there and be done with it.WRONG!When this arrived I put it together in about 5 minutes by myself in the living room to get familiar with it before taking it on vacation. It was exactly what I needed, small and light, good quality and easy setup. Keep in mind that my wife and I can usually set up our large camping tent by ourselves so we have experience.
I took it to Hawaii in my carry on bag, the whole thing is only around 12" long and 4" inches in diameter folded up. Once we got to the beach it was windy so I set it up with the help of my wife and it took the two of us around 5 minutes.I used the included stakes to secure it into the sand and also filled the outside pouches with sand and it never moved in a mild-moderate wind. It even provided rain shelter when it rained for 10 minutes! It is just big enough for my wife to sit/lay under along with our beach & snorkeling gear and give her shade from the sun. Not shade over her entire body, but enough to cover her head and upper torso while she was laying out. I imagine it would be great for totally covering an infant or child.
Breaking it down in the wind required a little finesse. To get the sand out of the outside pouches you first have to shovel the sand out with your hands and then turn it upside down and shake out the remainder (while it is still assembled). Don't let the wind catch it or it'll take off like a kite! Then you just reverse the assembly procedure and fold it up and it fits easily back into the storage pouch! Again about 5 minutes or so.
We used it on 7 beach outings while in Hawaii and it never gave us any trouble. For the money it's hard to beat. We will take it on all of our beach vacations from now on!

(More customer reviews)This shelter is not bad for $40 but there are some significant drawbacks to it, and you may want to pony up the bucks for the Kelty or something else. I put it up for the first time today and immediately one of the pole clips snapped with barely any pressure. The first thing I noticed was the shock cords are absolutely too loose so the poles don't stay together well, so this was more of a hassle to put up than it should have been. The no-see-um window is a better idea than I thought it would be but badly sewn in and I suspect the zipper tabs will soon part ways. I still gave this a 4 because it's only $40 and I can see it will be functional despite these probs. Had I known though I might have gone with more quality.

(More customer reviews)EASY SET UP. NO WAY. ALL THE POLES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE CORDED BUT SOME OF THEM THE CORDS WERE PULLED OUT. SO WE TRIED TO SET UP ON MY DECK AND THE NONE CORDED POLES KEPT ON FALLING AND DOING A LOT OF DAMAGE. AFTER A HOUR OF THE POLES FALLING I CALLED THE COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT AWAY SAID I MUST OF USED THE CANOPY AND JUST TRYING TO RETURN IT NOW. I TOLD THEM TO SEND A CALL TAG TO RETURN AND THEY JUST HUNG UP ON ME. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. BEWARE.

The metal supports have ripped through the nylon.I am very disappointed and would not buy this product again.I'm now trying to sew the nylon back around the supports, because the price in shipping is too much for me to consider returning.

(More customer reviews)I bought this tent because I wanted to have something that I could take with me on trips.It was important to me that it be light and small enough to pack in a suitcase.This fit both those requirements.I used it at the beach.It was awesome for sun coverage for two, using beach chairs.The design is great because it allows you to still see all around, unlike some of the other beach tents.Also, its adjustable shade allows you to slowly slide the shade so that you get coverage as the sun makes its way across the sky.I've been thinking about getting a second one, so that I could 'camel-back' them together for an even larger shade area.
